General information - Livigno

Livigno is the second highest 'Comune' or town in Italy and Trepalle is the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe.

It is also a duty free area so no sales tax is applied to goods bought within Livigno, however all other income taxes etc are payable by local residents.

The village is well known as being one of the most 'snow sure' resorts in Europe and the ski season is 5 months long.

Summertime sees many athletes coming for high altitude training for all sports, rowing, cycling, athletics, football amongst the most prolific.

With it's 15km long flat valley floor it is also ideal for paralympic and other disabled athletes high altitude training.

Many just like to come for the tranquility and fresh mountain air, others to see what the duty free shopping has to offer.
